NDP halfway to filling election slate

Tom Harris's confirmation as the NDP candidatefor the Labrador West districtmeans the New Democrats have half their candidates for the upcoming provincial election.

Harris has been a representative for the United Steelworkers union in the region for more than twelve years.

The party is still looking forcandidates for the districts of Harbour Main, Conception Bay South, St. George's-Stephenville East and Grand Falls-Windsor-Green Bay South.

The Conservatives have a full slate of candidates for the Oct. 11 election. The Liberals are trailing behind the other partieswith the fewest number of candidates announced.
