Illegal dumping leads to charges for C.B.S. man

A man was charged under the Environmental Protection Act for illegally dumping trash in the Red Bridge Road area of Conception Bay South last month.

A man from Conception Bay South is facing charges after being caught illegally dumping trash in the Red Bridge Road area last month.

He was charged under the Environmental Protection Act on April 2 and given notice to appear in court.

The town's enforcement received information about the possible illegal dumping and launched an investigation with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.

Police conducted further interviews after receiving details from the town, resulting in charges for the man.

Mayor Ken McDonald said in a release the town has "no tolerance" for illegal dumping.
