Arkells, Strumbellas, Sloan, Big Sugar playing Iceberg Alley fest in St. John's

A concert series coming to to the Quidi Vidi area this September has announced a lineup heavy in Canadian alternative rock.

Performances set for 10 days in large tent on The Boulevard near Quidi Vidi Lake

The Arkells are one of the acts announced Friday by Iceberg Alley Performance Tent for a 10-day festival in September near Quidi Vidi Lake.

A concert series in the Quidi Vidiarea this September has announced a lineup heavy in Canadian alternative rock.

Iceberg Alley Performance Tent announced Friday the Arkells, the Strumbellas, Sloan, Big Sugar and the Darcys as some of the performers at the 10-day festival, which runs Sept. 14-24.

There will also be a country night featuring Dean Brody and the Road Hammers. The Wreckhouse Jazz and Blues Festival is also partnering with the Quidi Vidi event to bring Big Sugar to the lineup, as well as N.L.'s own Beauwater, Denis Parker and John Clarke.

The bands will perform in large tent that's been set up for most of the summeron The Boulevard near the Techniplex. Iceberg Alley Performance Tent was launched in 2015 with a lineup that was to have included Joel Plaskett and the Once, but was cancelled.

More performers are expected to be announced next week.
