No new cases of COVID-19 in N.L.

Sunday marks the second day in the past week that the number of cases in the province has held steady.

273 new tests were conducted between Saturday and Sunday

For the second day in the past week, there are nonew cases of COVID-19 in Newfoundland and Labrador.

According to a provincial government press release Sunday, the total number of cases in the province remains at 257.

In total, there are 239cases in the Eastern Health region, eightcases in the Central Health region, fourcases in the Western Health regionand sixcases in the Labrador-Grenfell region.

Six people remainin hospital, with threepeople in intensive care.

As of Sunday afternoon, 6,144people have been tested an increase of 273 tests from Saturday with 5,887testing negative. Testing has seen an uptick since new criteria came into effect on Thursday, broadening to include anyone who shows two or more symptoms of COVID-19.

Previously, anyone with two or more symptoms would have to have travelled, or have had contact with a positive case or a health-care worker before meeting criteria for testing.

Sunday also marks the 14th straight day with fewer than 10 new confirmedcases reported.

The total cases by age:

  • 22 cases are under 20 years old.
  • 37 are between 20 and 39 years old.
  • 37 are between 40 and 49 years old.
  • 56 are between 50 and 59 years old.
  • 58 are between 60 and 69 years old.
  • 47 are 70 years old or older.

In all, 191people have recovered from the virus, leaving 63active cases in the province.Active cases are the total casesminus recovered cases and deaths.

The number of COVID-19-related deaths in the province remains at three.

There were also no new cases reported onTuesday.

The province's dailybriefings will resume Monday.
