The Veterans Affairs office in Corner Brook will reopen its doors Tuesday, the office for Long Range Mountains MP Gudie Hutchings has confirmed.

The office will be the first of nine across Canada to reopen, making good on a federal Liberal promise in the wake of the former Conservative government closingoffices over the last few years.

Corner Brook's office has been closed since January 2014.

Thatclosure was widely decried by localveterans, whose nearest physical office became St. John's, although they could also call a helpline for information.

Hutchings, along with Veterans Affairs Minister Kent Hehr, will be on hand in Corner Brook Tuesday to mark the reopening
