The East Coast Trail Association (ECTA) is embarking on its annual Trail Raiser fundraiser with the Canadian Mental Health Association Newfoundland and Labrador again this year.

From now until Labour Day, participants are encouraged to complete session challenges by choosing their path rating and hiking paths along the length of the East Coast Trail.

The challenge is on!

The physical journey can be completed by hiking or running the designated paths each session, or if hiking the ECT is not possible, walking, running or using a wheelchair anywhere within your community, the province, Canada or beyond.

"The direct connection between mental and physical health is the foundation for this event and this partnership," said CMHA-NL Acting CEO Paul Fifield.

The Trail Raiser On the Go is broken down into two-week segments. Each segment will give participants the option of their hiking adventure, choosing an easy, moderate to difficult or strenuous path; or if you're up for it all three!

ECTA encourages people to explore new areas and enjoy bonus activities for each session to celebrate local businesses along the East Coast Trail.

Trail Raiser is open to everyone: individuals, communities and businesses.

This event is your opportunity to make a positive impact: Get fit, have fun and raise funds while getting out in natureand win prizes too.
