Sheepdogs, Novaks, fireworks set for Canada 150 in St. John's

The lineup for Canada 150 celebrations in St. John's has been announced.

The Sheepdogs, from Saskatoon, will be headlining the evening's concert on Canada Day, along with the Novaks and Mallory Johnson.

Saturday, July 1,will see a list of other festivities throughout the day.

Events start at 6 a.m.,with a sunrise festival on Signal Hill, and a wake-up breakfast from 7-9 a.m. at the Visitor Interpretation Centre.

At King George V Park, from 2 to 6 p.m., there will be family day activities with live entertainment, including Colleen Power and Eastern Owl, among other performers.

From 6 to 10 p.m. at the Dominion Memorial Market parking lot on Quidi Vidi Lake is where the main concert will happen, followed by fireworks at 10 p.m.

The City of St. John's received $250,000 through the federal government's Canada 150fund for this event, one of 18 similar events across Canada.

A Metrobus Park N' Ride service will be provided throughout day.
