One week after Newfoundland and Labrador mourned the devastating loss of their favourite condiment, a sweet mustardpickle replacement is introducing itself.

In a press release Friday, Bick'spromisedthedrought won't last long: its sweet mustard pickles could be back on the shelves as early as spring.

"I know, I know: I come from away, and I might look a little different on the outside, but I hope that as we get to know each other better, you'll eventually love me for the delicious and zesty homestyle taste you've grown accustomed to," said Bick's in its press release.

"Newfoundland will NOT become a sweet-mustard-pickle desert Rest assured, with my imminent arrival, there's no need to be saddened any longer."

The cure for pickle heartbreak?

Last week Newfoundlanders and Labradorians were heartbroken to hear Smucker Foods of Canadawould no longer produce its beloved Zest and Habitant brand mustard pickles.

People took to social media to express their outrage and their sadness.

As Bick's called it, "many Newfoundlanders were downright rotted" about the news.

To fill the void, Smucker Foods said itis updating its Bick's Sweet Mustard Pickles recipe.

And the new kid on the block is trying hard to gain our affection.

"I know you are a very hospitable and welcoming bunch. I'm really looking forward to meeting you and being made a part of your boiled dinner," said Bick's.

Nice to meet you, Bick's. We'lldecide yourfate once you'reon the plate.
