Atlantic puffin picked to promote Wildlife Week

The Canadian Wildlife Federation has chosen Newfoundland and Labrador's provincial bird, the Atlantic puffin, to promote its National Wildlife Week.

The Canadian Wildlife Federation has chosen Newfoundland and Labrador's provincial bird, the Atlantic puffin, to promote its National Wildlife Week.

The puffinwill go on to be featured in a series of Hinterland Who's Who videos that are set to air on television in June and will be available online starting on Monday.

"These species need our help so that they continue to be part of our natural heritage, and learning about themthrough [wildlife week] is a great way to celebrate," said the CFW in a statement that was released on Friday.

The videos will includeinteresting facts about the bird and showcasefootage of puffins along Eastern Canada's coastline.
