Another airline to fly from St. John's

There will soon be another option for air travellersto and fromSt. John's.

Toronto-based Porter Airlinesis scheduled to begin flyingout of Newfoundland on Oct. 5.

The carrier will operate four daily, round-trip flights between St. John's and Halifax, with continuing service to Ottawa and Toronto.

"We've only taken on destinations that we believe are sustainable on a year-round basis," Porterpresident Robert Deluce said Tuesday.

"Based on how well the market has responded in Halifax, we view St. John's as a natural extension and one that we believe will be popular right from the beginning."

Deluce said the company has already started taking bookings for travel in the fall. Porter operates a fleet of70-seat Bombardier Q400 aircraft.
