The New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization has advised residents who live in flood-prone areas to remain alert as upwards of 150 millimetres of rain is expected to hit some areas of the province.

This includes having on hand a 72-hour preparedness kit and readying your property for the possibility of a flood.

It also includes who to call if the flood does get worse. These are some of the important numbers and websites to know in flooding situations.

NB EMO has itsRiver Watch website set up to provide new information whenever it becomes available. They also have a number to call to report any issues related to increased water levels, which is 1-800-561-4034.

The province also has the 511 phone service, which gives updated information on road conditions. You can also find out about flooded roads by clicking here.

If something does happen to your property, or you have to be evacuated, you can call the Red Cross' personal disaster hotline at 1-800-222-9597.

If you have a power outage or safety hazard relating to power to report, you can call NB Power's emergency hotline at 1-800-663-6272. You can also report an outage online.

If you have an event cancellation related to the storm or flood, you can get the word out by calling the CBC Storm Centre at 1-877-236-9350.

Of course, if you are in immediate danger you should call 911.
