Saint John store owner, 89, fights off armed robbers

Dramatic security video from a convenience store in Saint John shows an 89-year-old store owner fighting off two armed gunmen during an attempted robbery.

The elderly man and his son were just about to close the store together when twoarmed suspects entered, one brandishing a sawed-off shotgun.

The son said he was ready to give over the cash, but decided to fight back when one of the would-be robbers struck his father, who has a heart condition. The senior also began to fight back, and the two succeeded in chasing the suspects out to the street.

Police are looking for two malesuspects between 18 and 25.
