Minto-area homicide isn't random, RCMP say

A 50-year-old man's death is being investigated as a homicide after his body was found near Minto, according to the New Brunswick RCMP.

No arrests are made but police consider Ronald Richard's death a homicide

A 50-year-oldman's death is being investigated as a homicide after his body was found near Minto, according to theNew Brunswick RCMP.

Policewere called to a rural property in Hardwood Ridge, a community about 10kilometresnorth ofMinto, at about 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.

They discovered the body of a man later identified as Ronald Richard, a newsrelease said.

No arrests were made but the police said they believe thedeath was not random.

An autopsy is scheduled.

Const. Isabelle Beaulieu with RCMP media relationssaid the major crime unit was called to the incident.

She could not say whether police knew of Richard's death before arriving at the rural property.

Nor could she commenton the cause of his death, she said.
