Morningstar describes Wylie's final hours in RCMP interrogation video

A video ofCodiacRCMPinterrogatingDevinMorningstarpaints a picture of a drug-fuelled murder scene.

Morningstar, 19, is one of three people charged with first-degree murder in 18-year-oldBayleeWylie'sdeath.

Morningstartold policehe went to the the triplex on SumacStreet after his girlfriend had broken up with him a few days before.MorningstarsaidMarissaShephard, Tyler Noel andBayleeWyliewere there.

Morningstarsaid that night, he slept withShephard.

The next dayMorningstarfound out that Noel andWyliehad a sexual relationship.

He said he didn't believeWylieuntil he showed him a picture as proof.

During his statement to police,Morningstarstruggled at timesto keep the order of events in line. He admitted the group were smoking crack in the basement.

Shephardlater invited him to go upstairs to have a shower. Inthe video he says he was proud to be winning her affections overNoel.

Morningstartold theRCMPthat Noel was "steaming mad," and "trying so hard to be this big gangster."

He said that Noel told himWyliewas "trying to start shit," by tellingShephardthat he had a sexual relationship with both Noel andMorningstar.

Morningstardenied having sex withWylie, saying it wasWylie'stactic to win overShephard.

He saidWyliewanted the other two young men to leave, and threatened to call police.

"We both sold drugs,"Morningstaradmitted.

They then came up with a plan to frameWylie.

Morningstardescribes murder ofWylie

Morningstarthen detailed the beating thatWyliereceived before his death.

He described howWyliewas bound in plastic wrap, then beaten numerous timesin the basement.

According toMorningstar, they initially threatenedtostabWylieif he "[ratted]on them."

After more beatings,Morningstarsaid Noel told him "this kid can't leave this house."

Morningstarsaid bothShephardand Noel began stabbingWylie.

"At this point the wind is out of him, he just keeps begging us to stop," saidMorningstar. By then, he said, Noel andShephardwere surprisedWyliewas still alive.

Morningstarthen admitted on tape to stabbingWylie.He did it after being prodded by Noel to prove his loyalty.

Morningstar said he stabbed the 18-year-old three times.

After leavingWyliealone and bleeding in the basement, Noel found him crawling on the first floor,trying to escape.

MorningstarsaidWyliemanaged to get his hand on the back door, when Noel began pistol-whippingWylie.

Wylie'sbody was found in the living room, whereMorningstarsaid Noel andShephardcontinued to stab him.

"I remember how white he was,"Morningstartold the police.

Morningstarsaid the violence lasted about an hour and a half in total.

After the group decidedWyliewas dead,Morningstarsaid he dousedWyliein bleach to remove any finger prints, before Noel andShephardset fires in the triplex.

The trial has heardWyliehad up to 200 wounds. It resumes Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.
