Dennis Oland's second-degree murder trial: Oct. 21

The second-degree murder trial of Dennis Oland is continuing on Wednesday morning in Saint John with the viewing of his his videotaped police statement from July 7, 2011.

Dennis Oland said his relationship with his father, Richard Oland, was "probably perfect," until he was a teenager. Oland is now on trial for second-degree murder in his father's death.

The first 50 minutes of the video was shown in court on Tuesday with Olandsuggesting that hisfather,RichardOland, was not "the easiest guy in the world to get along with," and that they didn't have a close relationship.

The interview lasts more than twohours.At that time, Oland was considered a witness, somebody to provide information that might assist police with the investigation,Const.Stephen Davidson, who interviewed Dennis Oland, testified on Tuesday.

DennisOland, 47, who was the last known person to see his father alive during a meeting at his Canterbury Street office the night before, has pleaded not guilty in his death.
