Dead woman's parents seek help

A family from the Elsipogtog First Nation in New Brunswick is hoping someone will come forward to help them figure out how their daughter died this week.

Elsipogtog woman 'fell in with the wrong crowd'

A family from the Elsipogtog First Nation in New Brunswick is hoping someone will come forward to help them figure out how their daughter died this week.

Sabrina Polchies, 22, was found dead in an apartment building in Salisbury Monday evening. She had been reported missing July 4.

Her parents, Mary and Wilson Polchies, don't know how she ended up in the building or what happened to her.

Caledonia RCMP have called the death suspicious.

Her mother said Sabrina was looking forward to spending the Canada Day weekend in Moncton and was in the midst of moving to the city from Elsipogtog.

Her parents believe she got in with the wrong crowd. Mary Polchies said Wednesday that was evident from her last phone conversation with her daughter.

"She was in this house, she wanted to leave this apartment house she's in Salisbury. She was asking whoever that was in this house, 'I'm in Salisbury, where am I?'" Mary Polchies said.

Seeking closure

Now the family is pleading for answers.

They're asking anyone who saw Polchies in Moncton over the long weekend, or anyone who has information about the case, to come forward.

"It's very important for me to have this information so I can have a closure to my baby's death, you know, her short life.I don't know what happened," her mother said.

Mary Polchies said her daughter will be remembered as a loving, compassionate young woman.

RCMP said their investigation continues and thatofficers are interviewing known acquaintances of Polchies to determine her recent activities.

They asked the public for any information that could help with the investigation.
