Cameron Allan, 'Creep Catcher' teen, will not face charges

The Saint John police are not charging Cameron Allan, after the 18-year-old high school student posed as an underage girl online and confronted a man on video as part of the vigilante group Creep Catcher Canada.

The policeinvestigated avideo of Allan meeting up with a man that the teensays is an online sex predator, after a complaint was lodged.

A defence lawyer told CBC News that Allan's actions could lead to criminal charges.

But at this point, the accuser has not been turned into the accused.

"There is not enough evidence at present time to proceed with a criminal charge," said Saint John police Sgt. Lori Magee.

"The file was also reviewed by the Crown prosecutor's office as well."

Allan said thepolice gave him examples of charges that could be laid against him, such as harassment and assault, if he continues to lure alleged criminals online.

"It was a feeling of relief," Allan said.

"I expected to be charged."

The highschool student said he doesn't plan on heedingthe police warning about stopping his videos.

"I'm going to say that I will continue [making videos]," Allan said.

"I'm not going to say when and where."
