Chicken strips recalled by Canadian Food Inspection Agency

The CanadianFood Inspection Agency iswarning the public about a brand of frozen chicken strips.

JD Sweid Foods (2013) Ltd., is recalling Hampton House brand chicken strips from the marketplace, due to an error in the preparation instructions on the label.

The oven preparation instructions on the label should read: "Preheat to 204C(400F)."

The CanadianFood Inspection Agency (CIFA) website says the product "maycontain harmful bacteria that mightcause food illnesses."

The affected chicken strips were sold in 1.5 kilogram boxes and havebestbefore dates from Jan. 20, 2018to Feb. 11, 2018.

They weresoldin New Brunswick, Ontario, Quebec,Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador.

In a statement,CFIA saidthere have beenno reports ofillnesses associated withthis product.

The agencyis conducting a food safety investigation, which could lead to the recall of other products.

"If you think you became sick from consuming a recalled product, call your doctor,"the CFIA website said.

"Check to see if you have recalled product in your home. Recalled product should be returned to the store where it was purchased."
