2 bodies found in Moncton apartment identified

RCMP have identified the bodies of two men found in a Moncton apartment over the weekend, but their names and their causes of death have not yet been released.

Thebodies of two men discovered in a Moncton apartment over the weekend have been identified.

RCMP are treating the deaths as suspicious until foul play can be ruled out.
But RCMP are not releasing the names of the two local men, aged 29 and36, until their families have been notified, Cpl. Chantal Farrahsaid in a statement.

The causes of death are still under investigation and foul play has not been ruled out, said Farrah.

Autopsies were performed on Monday and investigators are awaiting the results, she said.

The men were found dead in an apartment on MacAleese Lane on Sunday at about 9:30 a.m.

RCMP officers went to the apartment looking forthe 29-year-old man, who had been reported missing on Nov. 7, and was known to visit there, said Farrah.

"When the officers knocked at the door, there was no answer.They noticed anodour coming from inside the apartment and believed something was wrong.After gaining entry into the apartment, theydiscovered the two men deceased inside," she said.

CodiacRegional RCMP major crime investigators and forensic identification experts were called to the scene to assist with the investigation.
