Many businesses, as well as governmental and municipal offices and services, are closed or put on hold today for St-Jean-Baptiste.

Government offices, shopping centres, SAQ outlets, banks, most supermarkets and municipal administration offices are closed.

Elsewhere, a number of pharmacies, gas stations and restaurants remain open despite the holiday. Some may have reduced hours.

In Montreal, the Atwater, Jean-Talon, Maisonneuve and Lachine markets are open.

The Biodme, Insectarium, Planetarium and Botanical Garden are open.

Some STM bus routes are being rerouted because of the St-Jean-Baptiste parade this afternoon. Check the schedule here.

Ecocentres are open, but residents need to consult their boroughs individually to find out the opening hours of libraries, pools, sports centres and arenas. More information on city services is available here.

Garbage, recycling, compost and large items collection will proceed as regularly scheduled, except in the following boroughs:

  • Plateau-Mont-Royal: recycling and compost collection cancelled.
  • LaSalle: recycling collection cancelled.
  • Rosemont-La-Petite-Patrie: recycling and large items collection cancelled.
  • Villeray-St-Michel-Parc-Extension: all collections cancelled.
