Swastika graffiti suspect being questioned by police

Montreal police are speaking to a young man in connection with a potential hate crime in Notre-Dame-de-Grce.

Montreal police are questioninga young man in connection witha potential hate crime in Notre-Dame-de-Grce.

Last week, the owners of several cars parked in an underground residential parking garage discovered redswastikas had been spray-painted backwards on the hoods of their cars.

Residents said threatening notes were also left behind.

Const. Abdullah Emranof the Montreal police would not confirm whether the man in custody has been arrested.

"What I can say for now is that investigators are questioning a 20-year-old man, and an update will be made as soon as we have more information," Emran said.

He said the investigation into the potential hate crimeis ongoing.
