Major cocaine bust in Montreal port

Canada Border Services says it has seized 310 kilograms of cocaine from a maritime container at the Port of Montreal.

Canada Border Services says it has intercepted a major cocaine shipment at the Port of Montreal.

Authorities seized 310 kilograms of cocaine concealed in bottles of sunflower oil at the port.

The drugs were found three weeks ago. The Canada Border Services Agency said in a statement released today the cocaine had an estimated street value of $14 million.

The cocaine had been blended with a liquid substance and hidden in 1,236 one-litre bottles.

It was found on a maritime container from Bolivia.

The drugs have now been handed over to the RCMP, who have opened an investigation.
