Montreal's Saint Patrick's Parade: What you need to know for Sunday

The 193rdSt. Patrick's Day Parade is this Sunday. Here's what you need to know before heading out.

Where and when is it?

The parade starts at noon at the corner of Fort and Ste-Catherinestreets.

It continues along Ste-Catherine Street until it reaches the corner of Phillips Square.

Road closures

For drivers, expect Ren-Lvesque Blvd. to be blocked off between Peel and Fort Street. That is the staging area for people taking part in the parade.

The Guy exit ramp, on the eastboundVille-MarieExpressway, will be closed on Sunday from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Montreal hosts one of the oldest and biggest parades in North America.There are 108 groups walking in the parade this year.

It typically last for two to three hours.
