Police say death in Longueuil park no longer appears to be criminal

Longueuil police say it appears a manwhose body was found inMichel-ChartrandPark Saturday morning took his own life.

The body was found by a passerby at around 10:30 a.m., police say, near the intersection ofJean-Paul-Vincent BoulevardandChemin du Lac.

Earlier on Saturday, police saidthere were signs of violence on the body and they were treating the death as suspicious.

However, police later said the death was no longer considered to be a criminal act.The man was in his 30s.

The investigation has been turned over to the coroner's office, which will determine the cause of death, police say.
