Osheaga brings together Canadians and Americans

It's hot, it's humid and that means Osheagais in full swing.

The popularmusic festival drawsthousands of spectators in floral crowns and their best jean shorts to ParcJean-Drapeau every year.

Since 2006, the three-day festival has continued to bloom quickly becoming a hot destination for tourists and Montrealers.

Some made the trek from across Canada and others came from the U.S.

Maia Sampson and Sam Montague

From: Victoria, B.C.

Came to see: Red Hot Chili Peppers

The two travelled together to Montreal after seeing the lineup for Osheaga. Sampson waited hours inline to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers on Friday night and said it was worth every minute.

"There is nothing like this in Victoria," Montague said. "It doesn't compare."

Mickey Burns

From: Hamilton, Ont.

Came to see:Radiohead.

Burns is no stranger toOsheagaas this is his third year attending. Every year, he and a group of friends weartye-dyet-shirtsto be able to find one another in the crowd.

"Quebec is a party city, man," he said.

From: Albany, N.Y.

Came to see: Lana Dey Rey, the Futures

Stark had only visited Montreal once in her life before she decided to come to Osheaga with a group of friends.She said she's met people from all over Canada since the festival started.

"It's amazing," she said.

From: Dunnville, Ont.

Came to see: Bastille, Mac Miller andFlume

The two friends decided to come down to Osheagain hopes of seeing acts they otherwise wouldn'tin small-town Ontario.

"It's huge. I didn'trealize it was going to be this big and so many things to do," Barnes said.
