Police suspect drug overdoses as 2 found dead in gas station parking lot

Around 11:15 a.m., a passerby walking near a Petro Canada gas station at the corner de Lorimier Avenue and de Maisonneuve Boulevard noticed two bodies inside a car. They didn't appear to be moving.

Montreal police say they suspect two men whose lifeless bodies were found in a parked car downtown died of a drug overdose.

Around 11:15 a.m., a passerby walking near a Petro Canada gas station at the corner de Lorimier Avenue and de Maisonneuve Boulevard noticed two bodiesinside a car.

They didn't appear to be moving.

The person knocked on the car window, but the occupants didn't move, said Const. Raphael Bergeron.

"They were probably there for a couple of hours already," Bergeron said.

Police say the two men were in their 50s. There are no traces of violence on their bodies.

Bergeronsaid police found objects in the vehicle that are used to take drugs and they will be sent along with the bodies for analysis.

Montreal police said last weekend that drugs laced with the deadly drug fentanylwere responsible for seven recent overdoses in the neighbourhood of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.
