Montreal police investigating shooting in Lachine

Montreal police are investigating a shooting overnight that left a 44-year-old man in hospital and in critical condition. He is now out of danger, police say.

Montreal police are investigating a shooting overnight that injured a 44-year-old man.

The incident happened just before 11 p.m. Friday in the Lachine borough on Louis-Par Street, near 26th Avenue.

Const. Sabrina Gauthier of the Service de police de la Ville de Montralsays officers found the man with at least one bullet wound in the upper body.

The man was in critical condition when he was takento hospital on Friday.

Saturday afternoon,police said he was out of danger and that investigators would meet with him.

Early reports indicate the man was shot as he stepped out of his vehicle, Gauthier said, noting that the suspects fled before police arrived.
