Montreal General Hospital to conduct disaster response simulation today

The Montreal General Hospital will conduct a disaster responsesimulation exercise in its emergency department this morning.

The code orange and decontamination exercise will simulate a train derailment and chemical spill and involve the emergency treatment of 40 mock patients suffering a variety of traumas.

Code orange is the recognized signal in Quebec's health care system indicating a catastrophe with multiple casualties.

All hospital services, including the emergency department, will remain open to actual patients.
