Montreals 191st annual St. Patricks Day Parade will inch its way down downtown Montreals main drag this Sunday.

The parade will start at the corner of Ste-Catherine and Fort streets at noon on Sunday, March 16, and end at Phillips Square at 4 p.m.

Organized by the United Irish Societies of Montreal as a way to highlight Irish peoples contribution to Montreals history, the parade will feature 18 floats, 16 marching bands, 130 groups and 2,500 people.

The City of Montreal will contribute $25,000 to the popular event, and City Hall will be lit up in green until March 17 for the occasion.

On Tuesday, organizers announced a partnership with duc'alcool to produce a St. Patricks Day survival guide that promotes responsible drinking.
