Montreal police arrest 3 school coaches suspected of sexually assaulting minors

The men, who coached basketball at Saint-Laurent high school, are facing charges for acts that allegedly occurred between 2008 and 2017.

Three Montreal high school coaches are facing charges of sexual exploitation, sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching.

All three coached basketball at Saint-Laurent High School in the Saint-Laurent borough.

The men were arrested Wednesday.

Charles-Xavier Boislard, 43, is alleged to have committed the assaults between September 2008 and April 2010. Boislard was released on bail Thursday under several conditions, includingrefraining from communicating with the two other defendants. He is not allowed to go to public spaces where children under the age of 16 may be. He cannotcontact staff of Saint-Laurent High Schoolnor visit the school, and he isn't allowed to accept work that would put him in contact with minors.

Boislard is expected back in court on March24 at 9 a.m.

Daniel Lacasse, 43, faces a single charge of sexual exploitation, alleged to have occurred between September 2010 and April 2012. Robert Luu, 31, faces three charges for offences alleged to have occurred betwen September 2014 and December 2017.

The bail hearings for Lacasee and Luuhave beenpostponed to Friday.

The police say there is psychological support available for the staff and students at the school.
