Montreal-area commuter train lines to resume service Monday morning

Service to three Exo commuter train lines that serve stations in and around the island of Montreal will resume Monday morning, following a labour dispute betweenCanada's two largest rail networksand their employees.

Lines 11 Vaudreuil-Hudson, 12 Saint-Jrme and 14 Candiachave not been running since Thursday afterCanadian National Railway Co. (CN) and Canadian Pacific Kansas City Ltd. (CPKC) locked out 9,300 engineers, conductors and yard workers.

Exo's additional dedicated shuttle service will be maintained to offset any possible issues and alleviate anticipated congestion.

"I would like to thank our customers for adapting quickly to the cessation of service on the CPKC train lines, which has been in effect since last Thursday," said Marc Rousseau, Exo's excutive director of operations in a news release.

"This interruption in service, which was beyond our control, reminds us of the importance of the train in the world of public transport, and we are delighted to be able to resume regular service."
