Vandals caught on camera scrawling racist graffiti at Montreal gallery

A security camera at a gallery that features African works of art caught vandals scrawling a racist message on the window.

A security camera at a gallery that features African works of art caught vandals scrawling a racist message on the window.

Theowner ofEspace Mushagalusa on Ontario Street Eastput the video online and is asking the public to help identify the vandals.

In the video, three men are seen walking past the gallery on May 7, around 1 a.m.One of them stops, pulls out a black marker, and writes whatappears to be"F--K YOU" followed by the N-word. The other two men observe and smile.

A spokesman for Montreal police said they are aware and have launched a criminal investigation.

According to gallery ownerGuy Mushagalusa Chigoho, this was the second act of vandalism in a week. On April 29, a street window was smashed.

The gallery is whereDieudonn M'bala M'bala, the controversial French comedianwho routinely makes jokes about gas chambers andhas publicly denied theHolocaust, is scheduled to perform later this week.
