  • Quebec reported 1,177new cases ofCOVID-19 and 28more deaths on Tuesday.

The number of hospitalizations is on the rise Quebec, putting the plan to allow gatherings over the holidays into doubt.

In spite of the fact red-zone restrictions remain in place, the daily average of cases inNovember climbed above1,200.

At least 765 people died due toCOVID-19 last monthand more than 700 are in hospital.

Premier Franois Legault said he wants to see a reductionin the number of cases and hospitalizations or gatheringswill need to be cancelled.

He said a final decision will be made Dec. 11.

What are the symptoms of COVID-19?

  • New or worsening cough.
  • Difficulty breathing.

Quebec government reminders for preventing the spread of COVID-19:

  • Wash your hands frequently.
  • Avoid touching your face.

  • Stay at least two metres away from other people as much as possible.
  • Self-isolate for 14 days after returning from a stay outside the country.
