Blue Jays last stop in Montreal father-son baseball odyssey

Montrealers Mitchell Kadanoff and his son, Max,are at the tail-end of asix daybaseball road tripbut have decided to extend itto include a stop at Rogers Centre to see the red-hot Blue Jays.

Mitchell said he was inspired after growingtired of making one-day trips to Boston or Toronto just to see live baseball. He was an avid Montreal Expos fan before the franchisemoved to Washington, D.C. in 2005.

"We are baseball fans. We love baseball. We lost the Expos and the only way to see live professional baseball is to hit the road, so that's what we do," said Mitchell.

Over the past six days, the Kadanoffshave made it to five different cities and watchedsix baseball games.

The duo have decked themselves out in Exposmerchandise at every game.

The Kadanoffs'visit to Wrigley Field to see the Chicago Cubswas particularly memorable.

Not only did Max get his Exposbaseball hat signed by San Francisco GiantMatt Duffyhe also caught a flyball.

"We were in the first deck and the ball hit the second deck, bounced down and everybody was looking for it. I just grabbed it," Max said.

The pair have been paying close attentionto the Toronto Blue Jays' success: the Jays are on a ten-game winning streakand have just moved in to first place in theAmerican League East division.

That's why the Kadanoffs have decided to extend their trip to Toronto to see the Jaystake on the New York Yankees.

If they can get tickets, that is.

"Of all the tickets I've tried to get on this trip, [the Blue Jays]havebeen really difficult. I still don't have my tickets. I know I'll get in the stadium somehow, but it hasn't been easy," said Mitchell.

But don't expect Max to cheer for the Canadian team.

"I hope the Yankees beat them," he says.
