Possible witness in Thelma Krull investigation comes up empty

Police continue to look for man, woman who were in the area when Krull disappeared

Winnipeg police are no further ahead after speaking to a possible witness in theThelmaKrullinvestigation.

On Monday, one year after the 57-year-old grandmother went missing from the East Kildonan area of the city, police put out a call for more information, specifically askingfor help identifying three people who were in the vicinity the morningKrullvanished.

On Tuesday, police said theyidentified one of the threepeople awoman in a purple shirt and white hat andspoke toher. However, "no new information has come to light as a result of the interview," police said.

Police are still looking to identify a man and woman who entered the park around 8 a.m. They were seen having a conversation at the end of Kimberly Avenue in the southeast area of the park.

Police previously released information about four other people in the park and police said they have been identified and interviewed.

Krull went missing after going out for a walk on the morning of July 11, 2015. Her glasses and cell phone were found a few days later on the ground at Kimberly Hill in the park behind KildonanEast Collegiate.

Police said their investigation has uncovered signs of distress and they believe that Krull either experienced a medical situation or she was abducted.

On Monday evening, friends and family gathered to remember Krull at a vigil in the area where she disappeared.
