Woman, 28, found dead in downtown Winnipeg, homicide police investigating

The death of28-year-old womanin downtown Winnipeg last week is being investigated as a homicide, police say.

Officers were called around7:20 a.m. on July 5 to Kennedy Street, between Ellice and Qu'Appelle avenues, about a deceased person.

On Tuesday, theyidentified the woman asAshley Isabella Murdock, who is originally from Fisher River and Jackhead First Nation, but living in Winnipeg.

Police said her death is suspicious and the homicide unit is now investigating.
