Police ID woman fatally shot on Burrows Avenue

A woman who was fatally shot two weeks ago has now been identified, Winnipeg police say.

A woman who was fatally shottwo weeks ago has now been identified, Winnipeg police say.

Ava Marie Zaber, 20, was one of two people killed just hours apart in the city's north central area, police said in a news release Monday.

Police had previously said a woman had been found on the400 block of Burrows Avenuewith serious injuries in the early morning hours of Nov. 21.She was rushed to the hospital, where she died.

Hours later, a man was found dead in a multi-tenant residence on Selkirk Avenue, a short distance from where the woman had been found. Police have said the incidents are unrelated.

Winnipeg police said they're still looking into the woman's death.
