Winnipeg school zone speed limits reduced to 30 km/h

Winnipeg drivers will be slowing down in school zones staring this fall or face hefty fines.

New speed limits take effect Sept. 1, 2014

Winnipeg drivers will have to slow downin school zones starting on Labour Dayor face hefty fines.

A 30 kilometre perhour school zone speed limit will take effect Sept. 1 around 171 schools.

Signs are already popping up in city school zones posting lower speed limits

The lower speeds are effective from 7 a.m. in the morning until 5:30 p.m. in the afternoon, Monday to Friday, September to June.
