Winnipeg police search for 3 people after death of man found on sidewalk 1 year ago

Winnipeg police continue to look for a group of individuals who may be connected to the killing of a 24-year-old man last fall.

Winnipeg police have released images of a group of people they say mightbe connected to the killing of a 24-year-old man last fall.

Joseph Campbell was "grievously assaulted" on Keenleyside Street, in the city's East Elmwood area, and found around 11:20 p.m. on Oct. 14, 2023, police said Tuesday.

Police previously said they received a report about a man on a sidewalk and found Campbell on Keenleyside between Manhattan Avenue and Kent Road. He was taken to hospital and later died.

Three men were seen in the area and are persons of interest in the case, police said.

Police believe there are people with information about the case, and said the Campbell family would like the investigation to be solved to bring peace and closure.

  • We initially reported that Joseph Campbell was assaulted around 1:20 a.m. on Oct. 14, based on information in a police news release. In fact, he was found around 11:20 p.m., police clarified.
