In spite of dreary weather on Sunday, nearly 500 local young football players are participating in the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Futures Flag Football Skills Camp at Investors Group Field on Sunday.

In spite of dreary weather on Sunday, nearly 500 local young football players are participating in the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Futures Flag Football Skills Camp at Investors Group Field on Sunday.

At the camp, flag football players between the ages of seven and 17 are completing a series of football-specific drills that develop and refine skills related to throwing, agility and flag pulling or tackling.

Throughout the day, there will be six sessions, each led by Blue Bombers players, coaches and players from the University of ManitobaBisons.The first sessionstarted at 9 a.m. and each one lasts approximately 70 minutes.

According to a press release issued by theBombers on Sunday, the team'sFutures program is committed to supporting and growing amateur football in Winnipeg through skills camps, coaches clinicsand high school mentorship programs.
