4 Ontario men arrested after Winnipeg bank robbed at knifepoint

Armed thieves held up the National Bank on Provencher Boulevard shortly before 4:30 p.m. Thursday, police say. Four men have been charged with a range of robbery and weapons offences.

Four men from Ontario have been arrested after a Winnipeg bank was robbed Thursday afternoon.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m., two men armed with knives held up the National Bank on Provencher Boulevard, police said.

They received cash from bank staff and then left. Nobody was injured.

A short time later, the vehicle used in the robbery was located and apolice canine unittracked down one man in the area of theNiakwaGolf and Country Club.

Around 7:30 p.m., two other men were found nearDes Meurons Street andHumboldt Avenue. The fourth man was located near St. Anne's Road and Bishop Grandin Boulevard.

The money was all recovered and all four men have been charged with a range of robbery and weapons offences.

One thing that hasn't beenfound yet is apolice radio that got lost. Whilesearching for the robbers, an officer dropped his device, possibly in the area aroundBeliveauRoad in St. Vital.
