Police seek man who tried to pull woman into van in Winnipeg

Winnipeg police are looking for a man who tried to drag a woman into his van early Thursday morning.

Winnipeg police are looking for a man who tried to drag a woman into his van early Thursday morning.

Police say a 36-year-old woman was walking in the area of St. Anne's Road and Alpine Avenue around 5:30 a.m.when a van pulled up and a male passenger offered her a ride.

When the woman refusedthe man ordered her to get in. Police say he then he grabbed her arm and tried to pull her into the van.

The man released the woman when a pedestrian walked by and the van sped off.

Police say the vehicle as a dark blue, older-style van.

The suspect is described as around 35 years old, about five feet, nine inches tall with an average build, medium-length shaggy dark hair, dark coloured eyes, no facial hair and pock-marked cheeks.
