Hiker missing in Whiteshell Provincial Park found

A hiker who was reported missing in Whiteshell Provincial Park has been located.

Woman, 33, suffered mild hypothermia after Mantario Trail hike prompted search

A hiker who was reported missing in Whiteshell Provincial Parkhas been located.

RCMPconfirmed a33-year-old woman reported missing Thursdaywas found Friday afternoon.

The woman is an avid hiker and set off on the the MantarioTrail to Mantario Lake Wednesday tocamp for the night. She was expected back Thursday afternoon but never returned.

RCMP were notified Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The woman's car was found parked near Big Whiteshell Lake at the northern entrance of the Mantario Trail in the park.

RCMP spokesperson Tara Seeltold CBC News a search party went looking for the woman Friday morning.

The woman tookfood and a tent with her on the trip but suffered mild hypothermia, RCMP said.

The Mantario Trail is about 60 kilometres long. It's about 25 kilometres from the northern trailhead to Mantario Lake.
