Snow has started falling in Winnipeg in giant flakes. About three to five centimetres is expected in the city. More snow will hit areas outside city limits.

An Albertaclipper has moved into the province,spreading snow from the west and then into the Red River Valley.

The heaviest snowfall is expected west of Lake Manitoba to the Saskatchewan border, where 10-15 centimetrescould fallby the end of the day.

More snow is expected overnight in Winnipeg andinto Wednesday and then even more another couple of centimetres Wednesday night.

Temperatures will continue to be below normal through the week, including a shivering high of just6 C on Friday.Normals for this time of year are a daytime high of 7 C and an overnight low of4 C.

If you're hoping for some relief, you'll need to wait until the weekend.

  • Wind southeast 20-30 km/h in the morning, becoming east20-30 km/h in the afternoon.
