Temperatures soar Thursday, crash down Friday in Winnipeg

Thursday is the warm day of the week in southern Manitoba, before winter returns for Friday.

Thursday is the warm day of the week in southern Manitoba, before winter returns for Friday.

A high of about 5 C is expected in Winnipeg with even warmer temperatures in communites south and west of the city 9 Cin Steinbach,Mordenand Brandon.

That's ahead of some snow that arrives Friday. The expected amounts are uncertain at this time, but Winnipeg will likely get about 2-4 centimetres, says CBC meteorologist John Sauder.

As much as 10 cm could falljust north of the city, he said.

Normal temperatures for this time of year are a daytime high of 2 C and an overnight low of8 C.
