Pedestrian hit by vehicle at Valour and Portage in Winnipeg

A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at the corner of Valour Road and Portage Avenue Monday morning.

Male taken to hospital, city spokesperson says

A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at the corner of Valour Road and Portage Avenue Monday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the area at about 10:17a.m. CT after reports of a crash.

Paramedics, cadets and others were seen tending to a pedestrian lying on the pavement.

A spokesperson with the city said a male was taken to hospital.

A fire truck blocked the eastbound lanes on Portage while emergency officials remained on the scene.

The cause of the crash hasn't been released.
