21-month-old toddler dies after being hit in driveway by pickup truck

A 21-month-old toddler is dead after he was struck by a pickup truck in the driveway of a residence in northeastern Manitoba on Thursday.

Atoddler has diedafter he was struck by a pickup truck in the driveway of a home in northeastern Manitoba earlier this week.

RCMP officers were called to the nursing station inGods Lake Narrows, a community roughly 550 kilometres north of Winnipeg, shortly after4 p.m. on Thursday, police said in a news release Friday.

The toddler was on the driveway of his home when he was hit by the truck, RCMP said.

The driver, a 45-year-old who also lives at the house, took the boy to the nursing station, where he was pronounced dead.

No charges have been laid in connection with the crash, but the investigation continues.
