Swan River RCMP search for missing Manitoba woman Lorlene Bone, 31

The family of a missing western Manitoba woman saythey are worried and just want her to call home and say she is safe.

Lorlene Bone, 31, from Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation,was last seen on Feb. 29 at a home in Sapotaweyak Cree Nation north of Swan River, Man.

RCMP were notified March 9of Bone's disappearance. Her cousin, Robin Genaille, has been helping Bone's mother search for her since last week. She said she initially thought Bone had gone somewhere with her boyfriend, but that was not the case.

Out of character to not call home

Bone missed picking up a social assistance cheque on March 10,and it's out of character for her to not to call her mom, Genaille said.

"She's always called her mom. Every second day," Genaille said. "Just to say that she was fine and OK and to say where she was."

Genaille said she and Bone's mom have checked at Bone's friends' houses in Swan River and other places she frequents and no one has seen her.

Bone is five feet, five inches and 155 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.

She was last seen wearing a blue hoodie, RCMP said.

Family plans to distribute flyers

Genaille said they plan to check a few more leads in the coming days and put up flyers with her photo around the region.

Leads have come in from people in the area, but the information has either been unreliable or incomplete, making the search even harder, she said.

"Lorlene, please come home. We're worried. Call home, call my number, inbox me on Facebook," Genaille said. "We are so worried and concerned."
