Summer storms wash out some Manitoba highways

The summer storms which swept through southern Manitoba have left some highways closed due to flooding.

The summer storms which swept through southern Manitoba have left some highways closed due to flooding.

Highway 44, from Highway 1 to Highway 312, is closed.Highway 301, from Highway 1 to Highway 44, is also closed. Both sections are near the Ontario border.

The road is washed out and impassable on Highway 44 for 25 kilometres east of Highway 307, near Rennie, Man., according to the province.

South of River Hills, Man., near Whitemouth, Highway 408 is closed for 10 kilometres.

The province also issued a voluntary evacuation order Saturday afternoon for certain areas in the Caddy Lake and Falcon Lake regions.

There is no word on when the roads will reopen.
