Jets put goalie Mason on injured reserve, recall Comrie from Moose

The Winnipeg Jets have recalled goaltender Eric Comrie from the Manitoba Moose after Steve Mason went down injured in Saturday's game against the San Jose Sharks.

The Winnipeg Jets have recalled goaltender Eric Comrie from the Manitoba Moose after Steve Mason went down injured in Saturday's game against the San Jose Sharks.

Mason was hit in the mask off a slapshot by the Sharks' Tim Heed in the first period. Though he finished the period, hedidn't return in the second.

The Jets have not released any information on Mason, other than to say he has an upper body injury.

To fill Comrie'splace with the AHL's Moose,Jamie Phillips has been recalled fromthe ECHL's Jacksonville Icemen.

Comrie, 22, has played in 13 games for the Moose this season and has an 8-4-1 record with a shutout, a 2.30 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage.

He has played one game in the NHL, stopping 35 of 39 shots to earn a 5-4 win on April 6 against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Comrie was drafted by the Jets in the second round (59thoverall) in the 2013 NHL Draft.
